Freddie Gray didn't deserve to die

I think black lives matter ("Six Baltimore police officers charged in Freddie Gray's death," May 2). But in order for that to happen, black lives have to matter to black people.

Also, I think policemen are just waiting for African-Americans to do something bad. But we must not do what they expect us to do. We must progress and not regress, because that's what matters.

It is unfair that police officers are getting away with murder. I don't care if Freddie Gray committed a crime; he did not deserve to die.

Also, police should have known that he should have been buckled up in his seat belt. And it is not fair that they didn't give him medical attention for 45 minutes.

I think we are regressing to a time when black people didn't have equal rights. This needs to stop.
