Ravens need a sports psychologist

After watching another abysmal Raven loss at San Diego on Sunday, I tossed and turned all night because I am so upset with the Ravens poor performance at away games. I had to put my thoughts in writing in hopes that the Ravens organization can get their act together and do something.

It is obvious that the problem is more mental than physical. It is time for the Ravens to employ a sports psychologist to counsel both the Ravens as a group, including the coaches, and at least 20 of the key players of the team individually. It has been proven over and over again by successful athletes that this type of counseling works wonders. This needs to be done right away to give the process time to work before the playoffs. We will not win the Superbowl with the way we are playing at away games.

There is a saying "that a person's eyes are a window to their soul." When I see Ray Rice on the field I see a person who is passionate about the game and is having fun at the same time. Ray Lewis' eyes convey his intensity, commitment to the team and determination. Joe Flacco eyes are like empty pools. There is no fire or passion in them for the game. I do not accept that he is "Joe Cool" and that's the way he is on the outside but that he is focused on the inside. That's not what I see when I watch him on TV.

Please, John Harbaugh, get the help the teams needs so we can win away games. The Ravens have a black cloud over them, and it is embarrassing how we have been playing. We are hot and cold, and that does not win Superbowls.
