True to its liberal inclinations, The Baltimore Sun consistently proselytizes the liberal Democratic narrative that blames "systemic racism" in America as the dominant cause for the myriad of issues (crime, achievement gap, income inequality, etc.) in Baltimore's African American communities, as well as vindication for Baltimore's riot ("The long road to justice for Freddie Gray," May 24).
Lo and behold, real life systemic racism is on full view for all to see. Witness the saga of the Freddie Gray police trials. So far the score is: Good Sense 2, Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby 0. So much for inglorious manifestations of unfounded, poorly conceived precepts and racist persecutions intended to hand over a white-faced scapegoat.
The systemic aspect of this racial circus is evident in The Sun's steady obviation of what actually ails Baltimore's black communities — namely, a refusal to look in the mirror. Not surprisingly, the reaction of the state's attorney's office to its pitiable performance in the first two trials is not self-examination but a call for a different judge for the remaining trials.
