Regarding your recent story on regional solutions to Baltimore's problems, as usual there was no mention of the role personal responsibility plays in alleviating poverty or of the primary issues of unwed mothers, absent fathers and poor parenting ("A regional approach to close the Baltimore Metropolitan opportunity gap," June 8).
The U.S. has spent trillions of dollars on poverty since President Lyndon B. Johnson's Great Society programs and what are the results? Zip.
I am sure all of your pie charts were perfect and that a bunch of too highly paid nonprofit administrators had a nice lunch.
But they didn't address the issues or tell the truth — that their real goal is to eviscerate the American middle class and create a socialist U.S.
I am sorry, but I love Baltimore and you guys don't get it.
