I am extremely upset at the lack of coverage related to the recent shooting of an Anne Arundel County Police officer ("Annapolis man charged with shooting officer," April 12).
This officer is a 10-year veteran who is married and has a family. Yet The Sun buried the story on Page 12 in Sunday's paper.
The next day the paper devoted just one paragraph to the incident. It wasn't headline news. Does that mean it's OK to shoot at police officers in Maryland?
This officer is in critical condition, having undergone three surgeries. Meanwhile the alleged shooter has a lengthy criminal record, none of which was even mentioned in the paper.
I just hope this officer survives and can return to his job. But The Sun's coverage of the shooting leaves a lot to be desired.
