Did the witness who rode in the same police van as Freddie Gray and said Mr. Gray was trying to hurt himself to make the police look bad have X-ray vision that allowed him to see through a metal wall in the vehicle ("Freddie Gray was 'trying to injure himself,' document says," April 30)?
It's more likely Mr. Gray was trying to kick the walls in order to communicate that he was in distress. Why would anyone who had already been chased down and mistreated for just looking at a policeman want to further injure himself during that 45-minute ride to the police station?
