I enjoyed the article about state legislators who choose to live in or near Annapolis during the 90-day winter legislative session ("Maryland's part-time lawmakers seek balance between family life, public service," March 1).
One legislator, a lawyer, said "the legislative calendar was designed for farmers and fishermen, not for lawyers who bill in six-minute increments." I suppose I'm not alone in wishing that more farmers and fishermen, not lawyers, were elected to serve us.
I draw the line, however, at Eastern Shore poacher fishermen ("Maryland rockfish poacher gets 18-month prison sentence," Feb. 27).
