Lose the chip and get on with it

Kudos for reporter Jeff Barker's article "Plank says city must lose 'chip on our shoulder'" (Nov. 2).

I moved back to Baltimore to be close to my family after many years of being away; I had raised my children in Annapolis, then moved to Florida.

My children migrated north to Baltimore after school for job opportunities and stayed. Now that I am back I have fallen in love with the city.

It is a great small city that is vibrant and full of things to do. It has a beautiful Inner Harbor, close-knit neighborhoods, young families moving back, festivals, fireworks, free museums, the Orioles and the Ravens. I could go on.

The city needs to embrace Kevin Plank's ideas and get on with it. We need to get rid of the "The Wire" identity and move forward.
