If Anne Arundel wants to improve pedestrian safety, it should enforce the law

In your article on Anne Arundel County's efforts to improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists ("Arundel targets pedestrian and bike safety after fatal accidents," Sept. 9), one initiative that was not mentioned is enforcing the state law requiring drivers to stop for people entering a cross walk.

This law currently is not being enforced except in front of post offices. Yet it provides much greater safety for pedestrians, especially the elderly and infirm.
