There will always be mentally unstable people who are filled with such murderous hatred that they are dangerous to society ("How can we respond to Orlando?" June 13).
We can only try to minimize their ability to hurt us by controlling their access to the kind of semi-automatic weapons that mowed down the people in Pulse Orlando.
If we don't, our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will look back at our time and wonder how we could have been so blind to so many mass murders.
