In response to letter writer Paul Marx's complaint about the rain delay at Orioles Park, the team made offers to their fans that were commendable ("The rain delay from hell," Aug. 25).
First, they allowed attendees to exit and then return if they wished. Then they offered to exchange fans' tickets for a future game -- an unprecedented offer considering this game was actually played and wasn't postponed.
A true fan would realize the importance of getting this game in. Both teams are contenders and their season series is over, so it would have to be made up on either an off day or the day after the season ends, and both options would be very detrimental to either team.
