The media need to stop perpetuating the lie that the purchase of the Orioles by Peter Angelos kept the team from being moved ("Evolving legacy," Aug. 2).
Sure, some fans were paranoid, but pay them no mention. No owner was going to move the Orioles at a time when a new, highly lauded stadium was in its second season, it was packed with sellouts every night and the Orioles were the only major professional sports team in a market the size of Baltimore.
