O'Malley's idea of justice: Protecting polluters while an innocent man is wrongly imprisoned

Gov. Martin O'Malley feels there is an "ongoing injustice" perpetrated by the University of Maryland law school's role in an environmental law suit filed against an alleged polluter of the Pocomoke River (O'Malley criticizes UMB for lawsuit," Nov. 18).

The governor states that "this is a matter of fundamental fairness and significant injustice." Yet he sees no injustice in keeping a wrongly convicted man, Mark Farley Grant, in prison more than 25 years for a crime the Innocence Project and others have concluded he did not commit.

Perhaps the governor could explain more clearly his notion of what constitutes justice and injustice.
