Developers and members of the http://www.baltimoresun.com/travel/beaches/ Council sure can come up with goofy ideas on how to "improve and promote" http://www.baltimoresun.com/travel/beaches/ ("Aerial tram proposed for OC," June 20).
It was bad enough that Councilman Brent Ashley came up with the free gasoline give-away which was approved and then cancelled by the council.
The council will hear similar complaints about the proposed aerial tram ride, rising 50 to 85 feet above the boardwalk and stretching from the inlet parking lot to 16th St.
Wouldn't it be nice to look out the window of your high-priced condo or $250 a night hotel room and stare straight into cables, 6-to-8 passenger cable cars, and concrete pilings? Not to mention the noise involved in the operation.
I suggest that theses dreamers go back to the drawing board and do something about the terrible tie-ups when the U.S. 50 drawbridge frequently goes up. The aerial tram might be better suited to solve that major headache than for an ocean view eyesore.
