Just like in the movie "Field of Dreams" — if you build it they will come — if Medicaid is free people will sign up for it.
All the expansion of Obamacare in Maryland this year was due to Medicaid enrollment, while enrollments with private insurers dropped.
What does that tell us? Two obvious issues come to mind. The first is the fallacy of free medical care, since as we all know it is we taxpayers who are on the hook for the costs.
The other problem is that the subsidized care is just not affordable nor cost effective for perspective enrollees.
If you promise me a free lunch, I will sign up too. Maybe the Trump administration will put forth some new health care approaches because the previous administration's partisan approach has certainly not lived up its promises.
