Affordable Care Act helps millions

Millions of Americans depend on the Affordable Care Act for insurance and another 5 million for Medicaid coverage. Sons and daughters are able to continue on their parents' insurance until they are 26 years old and individuals cannot be "turned down" due to a pre-existing condition ("Enrollment is brisk as Congress mulls repeal of Obamacare," Dec. 13).

There are times — and this is certainly the example — when the needs of the majority should be greater than the profits of the insurance industry. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, we also now have the lowest uninsured rate in American history.
