America needs universal health insurance

In Washington, Rep. Elijah Cummings co-sponsored the Expanded & Improved Medicare for All Act in 2013, which tried to create a comprehensive system to insure every American. But he needs more allies in Congress to turn this bill into law.

On a local level, Healthcare is a Human Right — Maryland is a grass-roots alliance of physicians, labor groups and other Marylanders working to promote universal health care in the state, and it has several local organizing chapters that need support.

Health care is a human right. I would love to see the Medicare for All Act in every state. If one's family members were sick, wouldn't you want them to have the best care possible?

Why should it be up to an insurance company to say one person can have care but another cannot? What happened to "equality for all?"
