Health care opponents should be ashamed

Jules Witcover's column, "Obamacare on the ballot is bad news for the president" (July 9), reminds us once again of the opposition faced by health care reform. I am appalled at this opposition to a measure that will provide life-saving health insurance to some 30 million of our fellow citizens who now struggle with the knowledge that they could face death, chronic sickness or bankruptcy if a health problem arose and they are unable to afford health care.

How these opponents can face themselves every morning knowing that their position can put millions at risk is simply incomprehensible to me.
