America is generally worse off now than in 2007 due, in part, to President Barack Obama's failed attempts to address our major problems — unemployment (government reports that 5 percent are jobless is false; the true figure is closer to 12 to 15 percent), race relations and the terrible emergence of ISIS whose members have caused so much destruction in Syria and Iraq.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would continue in the same direction. Donald Trump would bring his extensive business experience and ability to wheel and deal to the presidency. Basically, he is street smart ("Trump's scorched earth," Oct. 10).
Business is the primary source of jobs. Mr. Trump is a tough negotiator and would know how to protect the interests of America. The primary role of government is to protect her people. The GOP nominee understands this. His theme says it all: "Make America Great Again."
