President Barack Obama not only has a right but an obligation to nominate a successor to Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia ("GOP's no-hire court," Feb. 14).
The Senate has an obligation to hold confirmation hearings. That is not optional, or something they get to do if and when they feel like it. It's their job.
If Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell persists in his irresponsible refusal to do what he is sworn — and paid — to do, we should sue.
