The naked truth about nude protests

It's sad and pathetic that nowadays women often don't know how to get attention unless they take their clothes off. Singers like Britney Spears, Beyonce and Lady Gaga don't perform unless they are scantily clad or moving suggestively. And when it comes to speaking out against issues such as wearing fur or neglecting infrastructure, nude protests seem to automatically come to mind.

The latest such incident involves a Locust Point grandmother (''City moves to repair two aging railroad bridges," June 16), who threatened to organize a naked demonstration if a Fort Avenue span wasn't fixed.
