The folks in the Hampstead area of Baltimore County should not be concerned about the proposed Resh Mill Preserve. ("Council approves bill for natural burials," Feb. 18). To the contrary, they should celebrate the fact that the nearby 66 acres of woods and fields will be preserved in their natural beauty, untouched by toxic embalming fluids, costly cement vaults and unsightly upright headstones.
Most of these cemetery requirements have been dictated by the funeral industry in more recent years for their own profit, not to protect the consumer.
