Release Freddie Gray's autopsy report

Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby can't have it both ways. I watched her impassioned speech last month when she announced the indictment of six police officers and thought this woman is surely ambitious.

Ms. Mosby stood in front of the cameras like a candidate promising citizens she would produce all the evidence against the four officers charged in Freddy Gray's death. But now she is seeking gag orders, asking the court to withhold the results of the state medical examiner's autopsy and refusing to work with defense attorneys or share information.

She should allow Mr. Gray's autopsy to be made public or apologize for misleading the public ("Mosby says she'll seek order to block release of Freddie Gray autopsy report," June 3).

There are six men and women whose careers have been ruined. Further delays only add to the agony of their situation. The people of Baltimore want the truth no matter how painful. After what this city went through last month, I think they can handle it.

The people who elected Ms. Mosby want complete transparency regarding the investigation into Mr. Gray's death. There's nothing wrong with ambition, but there is something wrong with grandstanding at the wrong time and to the wrong people.
