Molly Macauley and a 'love by reflection'

Jessica Anderson gave a warm and loving account of the testimonies given at the service celebrating the life (not a funeral) of Molly Macauley ("Mourners remember slain Roland Park resident Molly Macauley," July 23). The article would have been complete had it recognized that the extraordinary qualities of love, wisdom, beauty, kindness and passion that Molly lived so completely came from her love of God as she understood the divine in Christian Science, a faith she lived from early childhood.

Her father once complained that Molly was always smiling rainbows. Molly understood that her life was a reflection of God, just as the moon reflects the light of the sun. She often signed her letters, "Love by reflection."

Through song, Bible and Christian Science readings the first half of the service proclaimed the faith that Molly lived and loved. As Jesus proved: a life that can never be killed or die.
