Following Mizeur's lead

Del. Heather Mizeur deserves thanks for an articulate commentary ("Mizeur: Don't write me in for governor," Oct. 28). I now know how to vote next week.

Throughout the primary run, she was the only candidate who stood above the fray and addressed issues. There was nothing negative about her campaign. Silly me but I thought we voters complained long and hard over the past years about despising negative campaigns full of half-truths — if we were lucky — and outright lies otherwise.

I had decided to write Delegate Mizeur in as my selection to be Maryland's next governor to do nothing more than make a statement, knowing full well it would be futile. The idea of doing that rankled but so did voting for one of the nominees, especially after watching their campaigns.

Ms. Mizeur's reputation is that she is strong in her beliefs and stands by them. She has the respect of both sides of the aisle. If she sees the wisdom in voting for Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown as the best hope of furthering a progressive agenda, then I must agree.
