Reader L. R. Daniels misquoted and completely mischaracterized Hillary Clinton comments on the Benghazi situation ("Clinton is unfit to be commander in chief," July 12).
Despite what Mr. Daniels wanted to hear, she never said, "They're dead. What does it matter?"
Instead, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said, "With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they'd they go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator."
Does this sound like some someone who has a total disregard or indifference to American life and has not taken full responsibility for the incident or someone who is calling out a committee whose sole purpose was to politicize this event as Mr. Daniels appears to be doing?
And shame on The Sun's editorial staff for not vetting Mr. Daniels' letter before publication.
