Who is the Rev. James H. Bryant to invoke plagues on Baltimore? What kind of religious leader would dare to exhibit such hubris ("The 11th affliction," May 29)?
If I recall correctly, the 10 plagues were delivered by God, not by any human. For a religious representative to take on this role is ridiculous. Reverend Bryant has incited unrest and protests which affect our citizens, many of whom are innocent of any wrongdoing except trying to drive our streets.
There is no justifiable reason for him to cause havoc in this manner. Certainly, no religious reason. Our religious leaders have a responsibility to maintain calm and peace. These are neither peaceful actions nor words. And to threaten nine more "plagues?" How insidious!
