Stop subsidizing McDonald's

In many ways, taxpayers are helping to support the minimum wage employees of companies like McDonald's and Walmart. The CEOs are making millions and the taxpayers are paying for things like food stamps and health care ("Minimum wage jobs aren't just for students," June 2).

We are supporting low income employees of major companies. This makes no sense. Why doesn't our Congress recognize that we are subsidizing large companies and raise the minimum wage so that we don't have to help these companies?
