Vets deserve a tax break [Letter]

Your editorial arguing that military retirement pay should remain subject to state income tax is the No. 1 reason I am already looking at permanently retiring In another state ("No to tax breaks for military retirees," Nov. 13)! This governor and state politicians who claim they are all for the military have no problem in taxing our retirement pay that was not earned in this state! I was in the armed services (Navy) for 22 years. I was deployed away from home and my family most of that time! Yes I volunteered for this. To continue to tax my retirement pay, unlike other states, is just another way this tax and spend state works! I did my duty for this country and this state, and I feel I should not have to pay twice for my service!
