Rising prices, stagnant wages

THE MINIMUM WAGE IN SAN DIEGO IS IN STORE FOR A SERIES OF BOOSTS, AND THEY'RE NOT JUST COMING FROM THE STATE. THE SAN DIEGO CITY COUNCIL VOTED LAST WEEK TO RAISE THE MINIMUM WAGE IN PHASES TO $11.50 BY 20-17, WITH FUTURE BUMPS TIED TO INFLATION. IT

As a life-long resident of Maryland I have been a taxpayer, a consumer and an involved owner-renter in my community for decades.

But given the reality that the cost of living now is constantly going up, if we don't increase wages to keep up with the steady rise in prices the majority of us won't be consumers, neighbors, owner/renters or taxpayers much longer.
