O'Malley's accomplishments aren't all they're cracked up to be

Why wasn't your recent front-page article on the loss of 9.200 Maryland jobs juxtaposed with Dan Rodricks' column on Gov. Martin O'Malley's "victory lap" ("Martin O'Malley starts to take his victory lap," Aug. 19).

The Sun's editors apparently are so enamored of the governor that they believe he couldn't possibly be associated with rising unemployment and the third-highest unemployment rate in the nation in July.

Mr. O'Malley's recent speech ignores the facts in favor of his own self-image. Liberals always blame someone or something else when things go wrong — in this case, sequestration.

Can you imagine the outcry, smears and degradation if the governor were a Republican?

Next thing you know, The Sun will be aggrandizing Mr. O'Malley editorially for the presidency.
