What's the difference between Manning leaks, hacked DNC emails?

Let me see if I have this right: The liberal left praises former Army Pfc. Chelsea Manning for bringing about transparency by stealing and releasing secret government information — an act of treason for which she was convicted and sentenced to 35 years in prison.

But the same liberal left claims that the release of ordinary private emails that promoted transparency by exposing the deceitful dealings by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's election campaign are an absolute travesty and that the perpetrator — allegedly Russia — must be severely punished.

No one denies that in both cases the contents of the leaked documents are accurate and truthful.

One involves secret government documents and the other involves a sneaky election campaign. Which is more important to the well-being of our country?
