Interesting how anyone can still call a full-fledged riot "civil unrest" ("Governor needs some manners," May 5). While the businesses and police cars, etc. were burning and being looted, the mayor was telling the police to stand down.
The police were under tremendous pressure to go against everything they were trained to do. Luckily, Gov. Larry Hogan stepped in. While City Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and many other city leaders were stashed away instead of leading, Governor Hogan stepped in with a show of force.
In my opinion, Ms. Clarke is the petty one. Mr. Hogan deserves a thank you from the mayor, from the councilwoman and everyone else in the path of the riot.
