Isn't it harsh to deny city rebuilding funds to liquor store owners whose businesses were damaged in the riots ("City shouldn't support non-conforming liquor stores," June 16)?
I know many of these owners. They are fine, upstanding citizens who often borrowed to buy the businesses they operate and who work long hours to provide a future for their families.
Their businesses are legal in all respects. It seems to me that if the unrest has taught us anything it is that all of us should be fair and decent to our fellow citizens.
