Maryland voted for Hogan's agenda

It is the leadership of the Maryland General Assembly that is acting like spoiled children over Gov. Larry Hogan's State of the State speech, and they are the ones who should watch out ("Senate delays confirmation of Hogan nominees," Feb. 6).

The voters issued a mandate on what they wanted done, not what any one party wanted to do to keep in power. The issue of taxes was front and center. Republicans took more seats in the legislature in reaction to the past eight years of Gov. Martin O'Malley abusing the taxpayers of the state. Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller as well as House Speaker Mike Busch received the least amount of votes that they have ever received in an election. If they, as well as other Democrats, don't see the hand writing on the wall, then after the next election we might see a whole lot more Republicans win in Maryland.

We are the last state in economic growth in the country, and with the cutback in future federal spending, we will see more job losses with nothing to take their place. What will we do then? The lottery isn't doing the projected numbers, taxpayers as well as business are fleeing the state. Do what we elected you to do, not what is good for your party.
