O's should get out of the way of the lacrosse championships

Unbelievable! The NCAA is returning the Men's Lacrosse Final Four to Baltimore in 2014, and the American League schedules the Orioles home on that weekend ("Notebook: Orioles home series, 2014 lacrosse final four scheduled for same weekend," Sept. 24). The conflict with the Ravens for opening day went the Orioles way — they were scheduled home first and there was hope of a pennant race.

This time the baseball folks got it wrong. The lacrosse finals, which draw thousands of out-of-town fans to the Inner Harbor, had long ago set these dates. The Orioles should flip the home series with Cleveland and allow the NCAA to prosper here and hopefully make Baltimore a frequent host of the tournament.
