The Maryland Historical Society is deeply saddened by the death of Isabel Klots, a longtime and steadfast supporter. A selection of paintings donated over the course of almost a half-century grace the second floor gallery walls and the Klots family archive of scrapbooks, housed in the library, offers a captivating look back at earlier generations.
Isabel devoted her energy, creativity, and vision to perpetuating the legacies of her husband and his father, internationally acclaimed portrait, landscape, and seascape artists Alfred P. Klots (1875–1939) and Trafford P. Klots (1913–1976). Her dedication extended to a summer residency program, the International Program for Artists, at the family's home in Rochefort-en-Terre, Brittany.
