The purpose of the Keystone XL pipeline is to make it easier for Canada to export some of filthiest crude oil on the planet — not to the U.S. (we don't need it) but to other countries.
According to letter writer Al Eisner, over 65 percent of Americans want the pipeline built. (Do they really? I don't remember voting on it. Did I miss something?) He therefore condemns President Barack Obama for vetoing the Congressional bill to authorize the pipeline ("Override the Keystone veto," Feb. 26).
I want to commend President Obama for acting for the benefit of 100 percent of Americans too young to vote as well as those yet unborn.
