Put partisanship aside, pass the Obama jobs bill

There are a lot of reasons for Congress to pass the American Jobs Act: It's a plan that creates jobs and allows working families to keep more of what they earn. What's more, it's fully paid for.

But House Majority Leader Eric Cantor says he won't even hold a vote on this bill.

It's outrageous that some lawmakers in Washington put scoring political points first — even if it costs American jobs. Most of us can't afford to wait until the next election to get some relief for the middle class.

Our lawmakers should put aside the partisanship and get this done.
