In his article, "Votes on Israel divide Edwards, Van Hollen" (April 21), reporter John Fritze quotes Morris Amitay, a former executive director of AIPAC, and Arthur Abramson, executive director of the Baltimore Jewish Council. They both criticize Rep. Donna Edwards' voting record as being insufficiently pro-Israel, and the article gives the impression that they speak for the Jewish community. They don't.
The vast majority of American Jews support the Obama administration in its efforts to realize a two-state solution and a diplomatic resolution to the Iran nuclear threat, both positions that Ms. Edwards has consistently supported.
