Thanks for publishing Dr. Faheem Younus' comments regarding Islam ("Just because you can ridicule Prophet Muhammad doesn't mean you should," Jan. 12).
My heart has been troubled for days by the terrible events in Paris. I have also been waiting for someone to express the deeper issues of "free speech" when that speech is, in his words, "hurting a beleaguered minority."
I admire the work of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which stands against acts and words of hatred. Please, let's learn to draw a line: We must protect our right to free speech but also be mindful of where we cross over.
