With the recent disclosure of the terms of a binding agreement between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, the monitoring agent for Iran's abiding by the nuclear deal, there is little chance that Iran will curb its nuclear work and other military activity. According to the terms, the IAEA will have no access to critical areas of nuclear activity and only a limited access to others with delays mandated and the ultimate decisions made with Iran's participation. No inspection of any military facility will be permitted.
With these limitations to the Iran nuclear deal, the road for military and terrorist aggression is wide open and enhanced for that nation by the hundreds of billions of dollars flowing into Iran with the lifting of economic sanctions.
Barbara Mikulski, as a lame duck senator, has no political reason to approve this flawed accord. If Sen. Ben Cardin is a man of principle, he should do the same.
