News through the looking-glass

There are times that you just want to reach out and shake someone or pull your hair out. In my case, the latter is not a real good option.

Let's see. A lot kids in the Baltimore City school system do not know enough English or math to pass a test in these subjects in order to graduate. So they get a diploma by doing a "project." Now, we want to spend millions to send 100 percent of them to college ("City eyes program that promises scholarships for all," July 16). Really!

Iran is the largest purveyor of terrorism on the planet, yet the United States and others want to give them billions of dollars for not telling us they are building an atom bomb. Really! In today's world, Alice's world would seem normal. Alice who, you say? Really!
