Baltimore can look to Portland for help

Baltimore's solution is not a U.S. Department of Justice investigation of the city's police department ("Mayor seeks Justice probe of city police," May 7). Instead, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake should go to Portland, Oregon and hire Roy Pittman, the CEO of Peninsula Wrestling, and Tony Hobson, the CEO of Self-Enhancement.

They are two black men with 30-to-40 years of unparalleled success working with black youth, the police and total credibility with the white community. Look at their records of success and give them a year. They will bring the police, the business community and the poor black youth together, and they won't want to run for public office. These two are treasured in Oregon by all colors because they work from their heart.
