Don't rush into Inner Harbor 2.0 [Letter]

Less than a week ago I found out about the Inner Harbor 2.0 master plan ("Inner Harbor reborn," Nov. 17). This is an ambitious and much needed concept. Although I make a valiant effort to stay on top of local news and projects, the Waterfront Partnership's proposal came as a complete surprise.

The document itself is 70 pages long and only available on line. The Waterfront Partnership website has a comments section, and I plan to take advantage of it after thoroughly reviewing what is on the drawing board. Unfortunately the deadline for community input expires on December 13th, and this is way too short a time for everyone to study such a complex document. Furthermore, with the approaching holidays, now is one of the busiest times of the year and many may already be traveling.

As a local resident and property owner, I believe we need more time to review and provide input on the design, as some proposals will affect our neighborhood. I'm hoping Waterfront Partnership will concur and extend the comments deadline far beyond December 13th.
