It's often said that America is a nation of immigrants, but properly stated, we are a nation of lawful immigrants.
I am a descendant of immigrants who came to this country lawfully. They may have come as refugees from oppression or catastrophe, but they entered according to the rule of law.
Consequently, America's diversity became its greatest asset in no small part because of our immigration discipline. Why can't those who are protesting our immigration laws distinguish between lawful, legal immigration and illegal immigration that leads to unbridled irresponsibility?
