Hogan deserves respect

Shame on The Baltimore Sun's editorial board for blaming good people for problems not solved before they arrived ("Hogan's choice," May 17). Those of us who elected Gov. Larry Hogan wanted fiscal restraint after too many years where others were just throwing money at places. Too many leaders at the city, state and federal level just bought their way to decades in powerful positions — and we just kept reelecting them.

Those leaders kept doing things like building $300 million hotels that never made any profit or outbid Loyola University and overpaid for the old Senator theater. Or what about the missing $58 million that was lost from Baltimore's public schools and nearly closed the system?

The Sun doesn't even respect our new governor enough to call him "Governor Hogan" in that bird cage liner you call a newspaper. When will you folks be fair in your reporting or stop disrespecting good people after you have shielded bad leaders for decades? Just wait until Sheila Dixon runs again!

Now I wonder how well you will be praising your mistress, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, after she kept avoiding Governor Hogan as Baltimore was in flames? Yes, you folks are as blind as so many voters to the truth in front of you.
