Thanks to the Sunpapers for the great article on Larry Hogan ("Marylander of the Year: Larry Hogan," Dec. 28). Your selection of him as Marylander of the Year was well targeted. The article hit many of the key points defining the campaign and the voters' reaction to both Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown and Mr. Hogan. The references to Mr. Brown as the anointed candidate, the manufactured controversies and the spooky and dangerous portrayal of Mr. Hogan ring true. It was refreshing to see Marylanders respond favorably to his message that focused on the economy and taxes. I agree with your assessment that we need more debate on the issues and checks and balances and that we will be stronger with a two-party system. There are some changes needed in Maryland.
