Hogan criticism goes too far

It seems like not a day goes by without The Sun writing something negative about Gov. Larry Hogan. The latest involves the reduction in tolls ("What price for lower tolls?" May 8).

The Sun's editorial board favors any tax or fee increase, but the governor vowed to look into and try and reduce the cost of those to the taxpayers of Maryland and was elected to do so. I don't recall this much negative coverage of Gov. Martin O'Malley even with the jail system fiasco and the disappearance of funds from the school system.

We were told that the increase in the gas tax and the tolls were to make up for a loss of revenue to the transportation fund, but where did that money go? The schools need money but we were told that all this income from the casinos was going to help fund the school system. Whenever the politicians in Annapolis need money, it was always for the children or some environmental issue that

The Sun has managed to side with.

By the way, people can get an E-ZPass from other states that don't charge for it like Delaware or Maine. How about giving the new governor an "E-ZPass" on some of his issues even though he is a Republican? Fighting all the Democrats that are dug in like ticks in Annapolis is hard enough without having The Sun beat him over the head, too.
