Brown's loss was a defeat for Gov. O'Malley's presidential aspirations as well

Well, so much for the power of an endorsement by The Sun ("Brown for governor," Oct. 25).

This election was more a referendum on the last eight years of Gov. Martin O'Malley than anything else. I think the working-class people of this state were fed up with being slammed and taxed at every turn.

Now Mr. O'Malley, having had his presidential aspirations severely weakened by this election, will simply fade into obscurity.
